Timeline Warp-Zone (What Came After) ; Act 3

shankress: uhhh..... i think my mind may be a bit fuzzy from all the smog and stuff... hehe
thelorax: *shakes head* I doubt that.
once-ler: -looks over at Shank- Right. You *sure* about that?
shankress: hehe.. yeah...
thelorax: You've been fine otherwise.
shankress: uh...
norma: So what's supossed to happen now? Is the world going to end again?
ted: We're sorta...stuck.
thelorax: Yeah. Someone mind explaining exactly what we're supposed to do?
shankress: the lorax needs to go back to the sky! is that too much too explain *she snaps, welling in tears again*
once-ler: I don't think it works that way...
thelorax: I ain't leaving until I know EXACTLY why I have to.
ted: It just seems wrong
shankress: Apparently things will get better... That's all i know..
thelorax: If I leave? *snorts*
once-ler: Well...
shankress: i don't know what to tell you guys!
ted: how DO you know?
shankress: uh.... i just do okay!
thelorax: Don't tell me anything, I know what I'm going to do. *gets up to leave*
shankress: Where are you going?
thelorax: To find out why I have to go back.
pipsqueak: *looks at shankress expectantly*
once-ler: So you're saying, the reason for all this smog relates to Lorax?
shankress: look, and listen clearly...
norma: I think if the guradian leaves, he'll know. So for now, we should try to rebuild the forest or something.
shankress: the lorax needs to start things over. ted wasn't supossed to plant the seed, bringing back all the trees and the lorax
ted: I wasn't...?
shankress: no. the once-ler was. apparently...
ted: huh...
once-ler: I was what....?
norma: Simple! All we to do is protect the trees!
shankress: i think the seed was left JUST for the once-ler to plant himself
thelorax: Yeah, but protect the trees from what?
ted: The smog
shankress: no one needs to protect trees anymore! Right now, all we need to focus on is getting the lorax back to the sky
thelorax: What if....what if I don't wanna go? *said stubbornly*
ted: Then we're stuck
shankress: you'll understand when you get there why you had to do this.... You'll eventually come back though!
ted: We don't really have much choices now
shankress: *she said with the littlest bit of hope*
thelorax: *shakes head* This is too much. I don't feel like I HAVE to go back,
shankress: you need to. it's your destiny. you wanna protect the trees? this is the only way ... and our last chance in saving them..
once-ler: You sure? Why don't we just go to the place that's causing the smog. Stop that. Then so Lorax doesn't have to leave into the sky
shankress: it won't stop UNLESS the lorax returns to the sky. Believe me.. i didn't want it to happen either.. But I realize now that it has to be done... Soon, you guys will realize it too.
thelorax: Well what is causing the smog? You aren't being very clear.
shankress: Pyra. He was created specifically to cause this. To let us know when the time comes to make things right
ted: It didn't seem like he wanted this to happen...
shankress: nobody knows. pyras personality was designed JUST for this to happen
once-ler: -tilts head- I doubt it too.
thelorax: Yeah.
ted: *squints*
shankress: look, once all of this is settled, we'll all understand.... soon...R ight now, let's just take this time to relax. i mean, i just gained consiousness for goodness sake
thelorax: SO I just Have to go, right? Just leave?

once-ler: -pats Lorax's back-
shankress: I honestly have no idea what to say at this point.
audrey: I'm really I'm realy confused. *coughs more* What's with this air?
once-ler: There's smog outside...
ted: And it seems to be getting worse.
shankress: yeah....
audrey: Who is everyone? Can someone please tell me what's going on?
once-ler: I'm Once-ler
shankress: I'm Shankress.

audrey: Yes, I know you, Ted. *pats Ted on the back*
shankress: Me and the lorax speak for the trees..... you know, the ones that are covered in smog right now...
audrey: The trees?
ted: They kinda got burnt...
pipsqueak: *tries to tell audrey his name but remembers he cant speak*
thelorax: You never explained the smog, either, Shanks.
shankress: I didn't? huh. thought i did
audrey: When was this? I thought we were planting them. I don't remember a fire...
once-ler: Yeah..so did my face. But, that's not the point.
shankress: wait wait wait... what?
once-ler: No Shanks, you didn't explain the smoke.
shankress: Audrey, what happened before you got here? any thoughts on how you did?
once-ler: You never explain why or where this smog is being caused.
shankress: If you all *shhhhh* then maybe I could!
ted: We're not really... In our time.

audrey: I... What. Wait, what?!
thelorax: *inhales* EVERYONE!
ted: *widens eyes*
audrey: *turns to look at the lorax*
shankress: *turns to lorax*
once-ler: -looks at Lorax-
thelorax: Listen to Shanks. *turns to her* but I'm expecting from her that she will tell us about that awful smogulous smog.
shankress: .... *sees everyone look straight at her* umm... well... There was a point where the lorax disappeared when he floated into the spot of clear sky that was left. I guess this is a way of saying that that needs to happen again...
ted: But where did the smog come from?
thelorax: But where is it coming from? If you don't know i'm going to find out.
shankress: i know!
audrey: It's terrible. *coughs more*
shankress: ugh.... this is a lot to explain ... *brushes hand through hair*
once-ler: Then shorten it?
shankress: uh... during the timewarp, pyra was created with the personality to create the fireworks that destroyed a quarter of the forest.... Now... the gases radiating from the trees are causing all this.
thelorax: Then why wasn't this happening yesterday?
shankress: *shrugs* It's a slow process I guess.
audrey: The trees are creating smog? Like photosynthesis in reverse? So instead of oxygen coming out it's more like carbon dioxide?
shankress: Yes, Audrey. More like carbon dioxide.
ted: And the only way to get it back, is if the Lorax leaves.
shankress: Apparently...
pipsqueak: *is wondering if carbon dioxide is a type of food*
once-ler: That's...weird...
ted: *sigh*
shankress: i know.... but it won't matter when the time comes for things to go back to normal
thelorax: *shakes head, starts to get up* I'll have to do what I have to do, I guess...
shankress: *nose sigh*
once-ler: -watches Lorax get up- Wa...wait.
thelorax: *turns to The Once-ler*
once-ler: -kneels down to Lorax, hugs him-
thelorax: *totally wasn't expecting that*
shankress: *blinks*
once-ler: Thank you....for giving me a second chance...
pipsqueak: *looks on at adorable scene*
ted: *smiles sadly*
thelorax: Y-you're welcome...
once-ler: Wish you didn't have to leave. -stands back up-
thelorax: I wish I didn't have to, either.
shankress: you'll be back lorax.... Things will get better again..
thelorax: Someday...
ted: I hope so.
once-ler: Hopefully soon...
audrey: They have to... *whispering*
pipsqueak: *nods sadly in agreement*
shankress: They will *looks at audrey*
thelorax: *pulls away from the Once-ler* Thanks. All of you. *starts to head for the door*
shankress: Lorax, wait!
thelorax: *turns* Yes?
shankress: *goes to lorax* y-you don't have to leave now..... You can... stay a while...
thelorax: *Shouldn't things get better as soon as possible?
shankress: Just a little longer....
onceler: But...what if the smog gets worse?
shankress: *looks down. sighs*
ted: Yeah...its spreading fast...
shankress: I knew this would come... but .... It's all so sudden I-... *looks at lorax* give me a chance to say goodbye at least...
thelorax: *leaps up and hugs her* It's okay. What needs to be done needs to be done.
shankress: *kneels to his height* *looks down* after this, I won't see you anymore...
thelorax: Never?
shankress: That's why I didn't want you to leave... I'll go back to where I came from... Which isn't here...
thelorax: There isn't any other way to solve this?
shankress: *sigh. tear falls down cheek* No.
thelorax: *sighs*
once-ler: -frowns-
ted: *puts head into hands*
shankress: You'll see the Once-ler though..... *thinks* and... he will be there for you...
thelorax: I'm sorry that this is the way it has to be. But it is. *looks up at Shanks, smiling*
pipsqueak: *looks at shanks with tears in his eyes*
shankress: *sees pipsqueak* oh pip!
thelorax: And I'll never forget you.
onceler: -smiles a bit-
shankress: *turns to lorax.* .... You will... All of you will.... You'll all forget what has ever happened during this time warp....... Except me...... I have to live with this dreadful memory everyday for the rest of my life...
audrey: *covers her mouth with her hand in sadness*
thelorax: Will I? *this doesn't deter him* All that matters is that you'll be right here. *places palm over heart*
shankress: *smiles* yeah *sobs*
thelorax: *hugs her tightly again*
audrey: *starts painting truffula trees*
thelorax: *watches audrey*
shankress: *is amazed by exquisite artwork*
ted: Audrey where did you learn to paint like that...
audrey: I don't know... I just kind of did it.
ted: wow...
shankress: It's beautiful
pyrathepyro: -stares at painting- Pretty
audrey: *smiles* Thank you. And now I can actually see one. *smiles bigger*
ted: yeah. a real one.
shankress: yeah...
pyrathepyro: A real what? Tree?
audrey: Yes, a real tree. They're so beautiful.
pyrathepyro: Oh why? Did she live in a grassland or something?
shankress: *looks at pyra* there's no trees where she lives. Actually there was no plant life at all
pyrathepyro: How can that happen?
shankress: Easy. Cover everything with cement and technology and stuff...
pyrathepyro: Why? even the biggest cities I've seen had parks or something.
shankress: not this one.
pyrathepyro: But i thought people need greens
ted: not when you buy your air

ted: exactly.
shankress: apparently they produce air which is what this major business guy sells
thelorax: *facepalms* This is all so ridiculous.
pyrathepyro: but why? shouldn't people move if things are that bad?
shankress: stuff happens when there isn't someone to protect the forest...
audrey: I painted the back of my house with trees and they covered it.
pyrathepyro: -looks shocked-
thelorax: *rolls eyes* Don't you think that's a little crazy? Selling air? *sits beneath a truffula tree, continues watching*
ted: I guess it is in some ways...
shankress: *looks at lorax* it is, but businees is wwaaaay off in the future since trees died... Or did die at least.
pyrathepyro: That's crazizer than anything I've ever heard.
audrey: trees give air for free. Or at least, they used to. *coughs some more*
thelorax: *is greatly saddened*
ted: But this isnt good

shankress: Things are a bit confusing.... But it will all start making sense sometime..

audrey: I can't remember what I was doing...
shankress: well I guess nobody really can at this point. So just forget that question
ted: It feels so far away...
shankress: what does?
ted: back when things were normal
shankress: *thinks* .... Nothing's gonna be normal right now....

thelorax: Pyra's gotta point.

audrey: Actually... I think I was painting before I woke up here..

shankress: *remembers people back at her world that would always tell her that*

shankress: .... I can't come back.... maybe i was brought here along with you guys to tell you what's really going on

shankress: but i guess they went off somewhere to cool down...

shankress: so you guys have to tell them this when they get back.......

audrey: *nods head in agreement*
